Remembering Ondoy and ELENIN?

In less than a week, it'll be Ondoy's 2nd anniversary. I wish I'll have more time for updating this blog. Since SEO requires tons of writing, my only diversions are coffee shops (and I can't drink caffeinated drinks- the irony of it all), Instagram, Foursquares and walking. I've been nostagic that I watched my Ondoy videos and just spent hours looking at pictures. That hospital in Ortigas extension has been my fave ER section for my panic attacks that developed in 2007.

I guess, I can never erase the memories of Ondoy coz that would only mean deleting my own birthday. Here are some of the things that are worth remembering:

- I've had dreams about flooding. Dreams of water inside my room. I should have paid more attention to my dreams given that some of them actualized.

- I was still hopeful that the filthy flood water would subside on the evening of Sept. 26 just in time for my so-called birthday bash. I'm not comfy with the idea of celebrating my birthday but I finally gave in (thanks to the hotel's accommodation promo).

- Now I can explain why I wasn't comfy with that hotel reservation. I never felt miserable nor loathed God. It was a once in a lifetime experience. On the 27th, it was the best birthday ever! No electricity, limited food supply and it was just an awkward situation to greet me a Happy Birthday! (Lol). I was just grateful that we're alive.

- I've learned to let go of my collections (Jap, Korean, Reg). Now life is more simple since I am not obligated to collect stuff. It's quite hard to lose stuff that will remind you of the people who became a part of your life. I guess, that's why we have memories.

- Our Muslim neighbors had to eat pork since they had no choice.

- The howling sounds of dogs who survived or were about to die. That's the creepiest sound ever on a dark and rainy night.

- The rescue efforts of my friends (you know who you are). Braving the strong current, chest-deep cold and filthy water (oil and mud) was just unbelievable! My neighbors are forever grateful for the water and food supply.

- Cannot imagine how I survived that night when I slipped and fell on our neighbor's mossy roof. I guess the angels were protecting me and that I still have important things to do. Also, no need for a costly CT Scan!

- First banca ride made from a coconut's trunk. The entire scene was like Pre-Rapture. I didn't expect people clinging on trees for their dear lives on the 2nd night.

- Seeing our dogs being patient with the entire situation. No food, only water. The flood waters sudsided on the third day in my area since we're near the Floodway. Our location became a basin for all the excess water.

- If you live in a village, rescue efforts won't prioritize you. The Help coming from choppers will only throw basic survival stuff if your house look old and dilapidated. We've been waiving for almost an hour but we never received any help. I enjoyed the experience though hehehe.

- The heart chakra is only activated during catastrophic events. This should not be the case.

I was drawn to this picture. It took me almost two years to discover real life drama captured on modern day gadgets. Maybe at that time, being part of the Event is already enough. I was consciously and subsconsciouly avoiding Ondoy pictures. This picture's in Pasig I just can't identify the exact street address. I was rescued by my friends at night time (27th). Still giving them enough time to greet me hehehe. I never witnessed the relief operations in my village. I can relate to the need for food and water. Also, I had to check my body for open wounds since I don't wanna be part of Leptospirosis' statistics. I already escaped a head injury and I can't be a victim of a rat's poop. No wonder this pic stood out from the thousands of contributors. Good job!

So what about Elenin? Again, my fate is intertwined with significant life-changing events. The critical window period is from Sep 22 - Oct 1. It doesn't end there. It's just the beginning of a roller coaster ride.

Based on the tons of readings and videos I watched, it's a comet. What's so special about ELENIN? There seems to be a code for its name ELE - Extinction Level Event and NIN representing the 9th month (Sept). I learned about the Extinction Level Event when I watched the movie Deep Impact. Almost all of the important scenes in the movie were actualized after a decade (creepy). It made me think that Hollywood scriptwriters must have some special connections with occult practitioners. The truth can be stranger than fiction.

The earth's axis moved twice on these dates - February 27, 2010 (8.8) and March 11, 2011 (9.0). These dates coincided with the alignment of ELENIN-Earth-Sun. The next alignment will be on the 26th/27th of this month. That means, another Major event will occur between Sep 22 - Oct 1. It can be a combination of tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, meteors, etc.

I'm starting to believe that this 188/189 cycle theory is true. Again, it has been consistent with the Honshu EQ last week and the India/Tibet EQ on the 18th at magnitude 6.9. As much as I want to live for the moment, I cannot help but empower myself with these information. Some might brand it as fear-mongering info but they have been consistent on a scientific manner.

I learned my lesson from Ondoy. This year, I already had 4 recurring dreams about earthquakes. Also, meteor showers but on a greater scale (destructive ones). If my dreams are warning me then I do not see any harm sharing them to anyone who will accidentally view this blog entry. I'm also seeing a pattern whenever something Big is about to happen - I get dizzy (usually for a day or two). I've been checked by several doctors and the results were normal. They just give me the usual meds for Vertigo - SERC/Cinnarizine. Two weeks before Ondoy happened, I couldn't touch my laptop's keyboard - I get electrocuted. It lasted for a week and had to go through Diabetes testing and radiation. Again, everything's normal.

I've always been a cynic/skeptic and I need to be very objective with everything. I guess, there are things that simply defy science. After years of searching, I'd like to believe that I've been experiencing DNA activation symptoms. For now, I'll still keep an open mind and observe. I'm absolutely not instilling fear to myself nor to others. Destiny comes to those who listen and Fate finds the rest. Learn what you can Learn. Do what you can Do. It won't hurt if you prepare.

I ♥ U Pare will air on Feb. 7, 2011. At first, I was disappointed with the concept since it was from the movie Connie & Carla. It seemed that some Filipino TV writers lack inspiration and the necessary creative juices.

As always, if you can't be original, you might as well innovate. I ♥ U Pare, I am assuming, will have a little bit of drama, action, musical and most of all comedy. I am expecting it'll be well accepted just like DIVA. A Pinoy teleserye won't be complete wthout a love story. So I guess, the character of Dingdong Dantes is part of the innovation process. One can never be complacent, so Big Stars and even Supernovas (actors & actresses who used to be popular) are needed to continuously entice the Filipino audience.

So after seeing the trailer, I guess, I'll enjoy watching Regine as a Drag Queen. Also, since Paolo Ballesteros is such a Queen, I am looking forward to the production numbers in this show. Paolo looks like Kristine Hermosa minus the Adam's apple or her twin sister.

I was really shocked when I saw Lady Gagita's appearance in Wish Ko Lang. I didn't expect She will be easily forgotten. At least, I ♥ U Pare will revive her career. Also, it will give her a new source of income and hopefully inspiration.

Instead of Regine looking like a Drag Queen, she looked more like Bozo the Clown.

This is more Drag Queenish.

Choosing Vigan is one the best decisions the production of this show made.

Goodbye to Pulpy tations - Welcome Minute Maid

I just drank a bottle of Minute Maid Pulpy. They say it’s got ‘no preservatives added’. Aw, c’mon…It’s bottled juice. Is that even possible? So I thought maybe... I am slowly getting deceived by a marketing strategy that capitalizes on advertising hype. We live in a generation where preservatives thrive. There's just no way that I am buying this misleading ad. Is it for real?

The only way to check it is to compare it with other juice drinks. I had to buy several drinks in the grocery and when I saw a real orange fruit, I bought it as well. I must have splurged a lot for this pulpy experiment. The only way to prove Minute Maid's claim is by doing a "Taste it - To believe It" test.

I didn’t believe it the first time I heard it’s got no preservatives added. So I read the ingredients (even the fine print) and everything checked out! It really has NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED! That means it doesn’t have ingredients that may turn out to be allergens, or worse...carcinogens! Whew! Now that’s healthy goodness that tastes so good, I... was so relieved that I spent time and money for my "Taste it - To believe it" experiment. There may be fine prints but the ultimate proof would be my taste buds. Plus the long-term physical manifestations of this drink to my body.

I now have a better replacement for my favorite frap and green soy latte. It's about time I consider a healthy lifestyle. No more pulpitations and unnecessary allergic reactions.

So okay, it’s got no preservatives added. That’s really good, right? Not just because it doesn’t have those icky, harmful ingredients, but it also means... that i can drink my Minute Maid Pulpy anytime I want. I don't have to worry about acid reflux, palpitations and high glucose. I can figuratively drown myself to this drink. Ü

So far anyone who still has a hard time believing that Minute Maid has got no preservatives added - meaning it's THAT natural, it's almost like it's plucked straight from the tree, it's just as Mother Nature wanted your orange juice to be, it's got nothing but the good stuff yes, none of those potentially toxic stuff that can harm your brain, kidneys, heart; cause tumors aargh- the list of preservatives' bad effects just go on!!! Anyway, just to prove a point on just how good Minute Maid Pulpy is 'cause it's got NO PRESERVATIVES ADDED, I'm gonna buy a month's supply of this drink in replacement of my one month supply of my somewhat costly non-acidic Vitamin C. I was really dismayed after watching the GMA special of the Ogie and Regine Wedding (A Duet to Forever). The first half was good while the rest was mediocre. The editing was poorly done that it didn't look like it's the Wedding of the Decade.

Now, after seeing the portfolio of Nice Print Photo's Onsite Wedding Videos, I had to change my opinion. It did look like it's THE Wedding of the Decade. It was so professionally done. The only flaw is the audio (referring to the mic used).

I was not that excited when I found out that What About Love was inlcuded in Fantasy's Covers cd. I must have had enough of this song in Regine's Most Requested. The redeeming factor that made me like this song was the arrangement . Slower tempo that made the song a ballad instead of its original rock form. The belting part reminded me of another Heart song Alone, performed by Regine in SOP.

I appreciate that the Eastwood Mall Management had a budget for their open park stage. At least, it won't be a concern anymore if it rains. It's given that Rain is Regine's twin sister. It's just unfortunate that Kyla was one of the victims when it rained on her show.

The poor a/c in Alabang Town Center caused Regine's cough and colds. It's a good thing that she has somewhat recovered. The first 4 songs were plagued with phlegm type sound when she talked. The garalgal singing voice was obviously caused by phlegm. One of Regine's talent is singing with a lozenge in her mouth. I've seen her do this since the early 90s. It has been more than a decade already and she hasn't accidentally choked. This is one of her most difficult and applauded songs ( I Go Crazy - Fantasy Covers cd). People were blown away and were amazed on how she belted those high notes given that her voice was cracking on the first four songs, Oh well. that's Regine - No excuses even with a sore throat!

Enjoy this performance. The HD recording when converted to regular video files somewhat got affected. But the stereo recording is still superb. The belting part in Crazy reminded me of NSYnc's I Drive Myself Crazy. hehehe

Odyssey is pre-selling Fantasy for P550 with free humongous posters. The first 50-55 buyers had an opportunity in having their posters signed by Regine. Since the venue was really humid, Regine looked exhausted but still managed to smile for some photo ops. Regine's Without Me Fantasy Album ATC

I just find it weird that the event was called a Christmas launch. The only Christmassy about it was when Regine raised her wine glass with Champagne signalling the upcoming Christmas season. I never expected Alabang Town Center to be this hot. They better do something with their airconditioning system. The video will show how Regine consumed tons of tissues in wiping her sweat. The rest of the performances will be uploaded in no chronological order.

Regine's version of Claire Marlo's Without Me is so far my fave cover song in her Fantasy album. She performed this earlier with La Diva at Party Pilipinas and that somewhat depleted the emotions required by the song's lyrics. Enjoy!

Note: After uploading, I noticed that Blogger didn't do justice to the HD recording of this mini launch of Fantasy. It must be the compression that the file has gone through. I'm somewhat disappointed. Anyways, the original copy is still perfect!

Regine finally admitted that she will be wearing a red wedding gown designed by Monique Lhuillier. I like the idea of this wedding dress on a beach wedding at Punta Fuego.

It's possible that Regine and Ogie are destined to be together forever. Here's a picture of the couple 19 years ago. Also, if you have seen Regine's concerts in the early 90s, Ogie was always there - giving the love of her life (future) standing ovations.

This picture is a premonition of what's to happen. A birthday cake 19 yrs ago and soon a wedding cake.

Been Waiting - Regine's Fantasy

I have been waiting as well for Regine's new album. I personally do not like the album title Fantasy since it can be used against her. Mariah Carey has the same album title. I really do not understand why the people working for and with Regine did not even suggest for a better and original album title. Regine has avoided singing Mariah' songs. I have not heard her sing any of Mariah's hit songs in Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel. There are so many words that can be used to replace Fantasy. They can use Mirage, Phantasm, Illusion, Dream or even Fairy tale.

The album is a dream come true for most Regine fanatics. Another pre-Christmas treat since it's a double cd. One cd will have original tracks and the other one will have covers. It'll have 22 tracks. Hopefully, there'll be 11 originals and 11 covers. There has been no advice yet from record bars on the tentative release date of this album. It might be released on the last week of November.

It is very obvious that most of the pictures were inspired by Regine and Ogie's Pre-Nuptial shoot. The pictures are good. A friend commented that some of the black and white pics were not that sharp. Still, lots of great pics to choose from for the album layout.

Regine has been waiting for her dream wedding. Her fans are waiting with her. For those who can't be accomodated in her wedding - Fantasy will be a good alternative solution. After all, we've been waiting for something new from our Songbird.

DIVA diva diva diva Regine

DIVA is Regine's latest Musical teleserye. A first in the Philippines. When I saw her interview, she reminded me of Bakekang especially with her nose and protruding front teeth. The only difference is Diva's extreme level of ugliness - warts galore and her bronze skin (there's nothing wrong with black the humongous warts worsened everything).

Since Diva is a musical, I'm expecting a similar format to GLEE. I can only speculate that this is similar to the Korean comedy film of an obese singer with a beautiful voice but had to settle as a ghost singer, simply because her weight issue does not make her marketable in the music industry. It's possible that Regine/Diva has a superb voice with an extremely ugly face and will have to settle with plastic surgery to become the mainstream DIVA that everyone likes. It's possible that the good looking Regine/Diva is just a mere dream sequence.

Is Regine's new album based on DIVA? A double cd - covers & original songs which would explain the need for the DIVA songwriting contest. I can only speculate. Given that Jaya is in the cast, I'm 100% sure it'll be fun...

Kaya Natin Ito is the Original Pilipino Music's version of We Are the World and Band Aid (Do They Know It's Christmas?). The song's composed by Ogie Alcasid and the intention was to raise funds for the Victims of Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. In a way, this has something to do with helping people suffering from hunger--flood related.

I am not a fan of this song. It's just not as good as its western counterparts. Maybe I was just expecting something grand from this song that will encourage people to buy the album. Being an Ondoy victim, I appreciate the Cause of this fund raising campaign. There are still good souls out there. In this case, Filipino artists who are world class talents themselves. Charice Pempengco would have gotten more donations from Oprah alone. Still it's the feeling of Oneness --- Filipinos united in times of tragedies. (Keep telling that to yourself Siren!).

Darna Meets Elektra

Finally we get to see Regine's costume as Elektra. A number of Regine and Darna fans were scared that the Songbird might end up wearing cycling shorts. Good thing she looked more like one of those Walk Like an Egyptian dancers (Joke) or more like Cleopatra.

Darna was not at all threatened by Elektra's powers. They seem to equal each other's strengths. I just don't know if Darna's beam can match Elektra's lightning bolts. Seriously, more than looking like Cleopatra, Regine's costume reminded me of Marin the Assistant of Commander Com in SHAIDER!

After the Rain is Regine's Christmas Special inspired by Typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng. The background music is Love Was Born on Christmas Day from her Christmas album. Did she sing some of the tracks from this album? A new arrangement, perhaps? Or did she sing more inspiring songs (hope, love, friendship, charity and all the remaining virtues that you can think of)?

I really can't help but be reminded of Mariah Carey's Through the Rain. It's permissible since it's very timely and significant. After Ondoy, I just hope I'll receive Regine cds/dvds, posters, vhs tapes (more than 30 pcs of Reg concert and performances 90's-09) that I lost in Ondoy. I'm wishful thinking again. Regine and Aria doesn't even read blogs. But who knows? A miracle awaits me...May it be a hopeful Christmas for me as well...

Darna's Book 2 will start on Nov. 30. Regine Velasquez' devouts will be happy to see their esteemed Songbird in a Villainess role. According to Raffy Arcega a Darna Consulant " So far Regine's the only Planet Woman that has been cast. Whether she's gonna have a team remains to be seen. In the original movie, the Planet Women are called that because they steal worlds in order to annexe them as their own planet is overly populated. But in order to do that, they intend to take the Earth from its place in the Universe and displace it spatially but in doing so destroys Earth's life forms".

There's a bunch of villainesses in the presence of Rochelle Pangilinan as Babaeng Manananggal, Jackie Rice as Diabolica, Katrina Halili as Serpina and a villain Akihiro as a Vampire (talk about the Twiight series). More enemies, more action and of course Higher ratings!

Rhap Salazar @ Ellen DeGeneres Show

It's heart warming to see a Filipino talent like Rhap Salazar appearing in the Ellen De Generes Show. It's his birthday wish--- coming true. So young singers who can belt (gauge of a bright singing career in the Philippines) and want Exposure can just use this proven practice. They can also malinger that they have a rare disease and would simply want to impart his or her talent worldwide.

Rhap's version of All By Myself (Celine Dion) was not as impressive compared to his performances in WCOPA, Wowowee and ASAP. It's pretty obvious his throat was sore ( with something (an alien matter)). I'd say this again, Filipino talents are being recognized in the US. The most unfortunate reality is that these artists (Charice, Rhap & Arnel Pineda) always fail to mention a single Filipino artist that they idolized and emulated. Maybe it's their way of subtly implying that they want to perform with the Famous & Formidable US artists (like Whitney Houstoon).

I got dismayed by Charice's blatant appreciation to these Famous US talents before. Her strategy and appeal to the emotions of the American audience definitely paid off (she's getting bigger and better in the US music scene). Now, it's Rhap her bff or should i say gbf who is doing the same thing. I have high hopes for Kris Angelica the Birit Baby who can belt like Regine Velasquez. I just hope that when her time comes in performing in Ellen or some foreign show, she will make me more proud as a Filipino, who truly values his or her lineage.

As for Rhap, hopefully, when Oprah invites you, you'll be more proud of your roots. I'm looking forward to seeing you in After Ellen.com!

I never expected there's a WOW Magic Sing Mariah Carey-Oke Singing Contest. Locally, we have Regine Velasquez, Willie Revillame and Charice Pempengco as the major endorsers. MCA Music is responsible for this collaboration and Odyssey.

The main goal was to promote Mariah's Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel album. There were 20 semi-finalists who auditioned in various Odyssey branches and got a score of 95 and above using WOW Magic Sing. I enjoyed watching this contest since it's open to all age groups and sexual preferences. I am used to seeing a young boy belting a Mariah song with his parents' hope of not seeing his precious son joining a beauty contest in his adult years. Of course, the jolly Mariah Carey wannabees never failed to amuse me

Since Mariah is known for her belting prowess I've expected some Birit Babies (kids with belting power) and adult belters. But I never expected a lesbo Mariah fan. I am not stereo-typing people, but maybe, I just got so used to seeing and hearing Aiza Seguerra and the Indigo girls' acoustic type of music. Ooops! How can I forget Heart's Ann Wilson (a belter-spared) who guested in the L Word.

Due to time constraints, the semi-finalists had to sing a portion of Mariah's I Want to Know What Love Is which I found very challenging since the high notes are usually in the end part of the song. It's only the top 3 finalists who got to sing the song compeletely. Here are the videos.

Ondoy's Wrath Rescue in Action

This is what we see in the news in Ortigas Extension, Pasig City. The military and PNP were commended for their bravery in the flooded main road. What most people don't know is that these so-called rescue teams were choosy and did not dare go to the deepest flooded areas in the said vicinity. Helicopters that threw relief goods had poor judgment. They chose only those houses that looked quaint and dilapidated.

NDCC was even useless. The media only showed what they want people to see. Many people in our area needed more attention and help. Unfortunately, there are still many areas that were not given special attention. Those areas submerged more than 12 feet of filthy water.
