Mariah Carey's version of I Want To Know What Love Is from her soon to be released album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Final album release will be on Sept 18. I love the piano intro and since Mariah has very obvious voice issues she had to capitalize on her whispery-raspy timbre and ultra high whistle notes.
Asia's Songbird Regine recorded the same song in her Retro Album in 1996. Her key was higher and showed her comfort zone in high chest notes. Her live version in her Retro concert was higher than the recorded version (What's new?). After several years, Tina Arena recorded the same song.

I like Regine's version better...Mariah sounded different with her version, as if she's not the one singing.
