Darna's Impressive 1st Night Rating

When the new Darna was revealed, a number of detractors have been very skeptical of Marian Rivera's capability of matching Angel Locsin's Darna and its consistent high ratings. I now believe that bad publicities, negative comments and a lot of hard work can result to amazing ratings. Indeed, Marian can stand alone and Darna is a well loved heroine in the Philippines. I am already convinced that Marian is the new Primetime Queen!

The pilot of Darna last night generated a whopping 44.1% (AGB) 47.6 %(TNS) in Mega Manila. This is despite the fact that Marian Rivera has yet to appear. - Marian Rivera, truly the QUEEN of PRIMETIME on Philippine Television!!

Marian Rivera did an amazing job in her Darna Presscon last night at GMA Network Center. The fight scenes were believable. She sounded like she's one of those stars in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon - Zhang Ziyi & Michelle Yeoh.

Will Regine Sing the New DARNA Theme?

The new Darna theme will be sung by Eva Castillo. Regine Velasquez nemesis in Amateur Singing Contests. I just don't know if this is final already. I have nothing against Eva. In fact, she has one of the best pipes in the industry.

I just feel that since Regine played Darna in Captain Barbel it's just appropriate that she records the new theme. In addition to that, she has been very vocal that she's a Darna fan. I always hear "Give Chance to Others", but I really wanna be selfish this time. For a production that's expected to be grandiose, the theme will be best given life by Regine's enchanting pipes. Hope that this wishful thinking will be given some Major consideration. For the meantime, I'll sulk and content myself with Regine's Darna theme of Di Na Nag-iisa.
