Clouds Across The Moon

"Good evening. This is the intergalactic operator. Can I help you?"
"Yes. I'm trying to reach flight commander P.R. Johnson, on Mars, flight 2-4-7"
"Very well, hold on please [beeping] you're through!"
"Thank you operator!"

"I'm sorry to interrupt your conversation, but we are
experiencing violent storm conditions in the asteriod belt at this
time. We may lose this valuable deep space communication link.
Please, be as brief as possible.
Thank you."

or it's...or it's..."Hello?" "Hello operator?"
" Yes, we've lost the connection! Could you try again please?"
-"I'm sorry, but I'm afraid we've lost contact with Mars 2-4-7
at this time."

"Ok. Thank you very much...
I'll...I'll try again next year...next year...next year...next year..."

I wonder how Regine would have sounded if she had included these lyrics from the original version by Rah Band. It would have been very interesting. The sound is soo Wave 89.1 and Crossover 88.3.

Here's the music video of the original version by Rah Band. It's so hilarious. Sooo 80s!!! Enjoy!!!

AT Seventeen

I really love this beautiful arrangement made by Raul Mitra. This time he totally went out of the box and experimented with his sound. The theatrical/musicale influences should take a back seat for the meantime. I still prefer the recorded version since you can really have a MOMENT. Appreciating the instruments used and its classy sound. IT sounded global... International - not your usual OPM arrangement. More beautiful music Mr. Mitra.. Please!

Nakaka LOW KEY!!!

Most younger divas (Charice and Sarah Geronimo) have been using the same humor that Regine has in their concerts. Here's a video of Leader of the Band and Tell Me That You Love Me. She had to hit some notes to veer away from the album's low profile notes. Watch and ENJOY!

Low Key's Platinum

Finally! I had a feeling that the album turned platinum last year. They are just waiting for the right moment for the awarding. Congrats Songbird - go for DIAMOND!!!

Papa Don't Preach

David Cook's version of Mariah Carey's Always Be My Baby was a big hit. It was truly unexpected to have this divaish hit song transformed to a beautiful rock ballad. Regine's version of Madonna's Papa Don't Preach has the same effect. An 80's dance hit immortalized into a pop ballad. Listen and Enjoy!

Wish that this song will be included as a bonus track in her next album.

DIVAStation!!!

I'm wondering if we can have our own version of Divas Live? So instead of sulking and waiting for the impossible to actualize, I have the following performances uploaded. Happy Holidays! ENJOY!

You big disgrace
I've got the feeling and I'm willing tonight
Well I ain't nobody's angel
Credit is bad
So why dispute me and waste my time

Opening - divastation

We are beautiful no matter what they say
Yes, words won't bring us down
We are beautiful in every single way
Yes, words can't bring us down
Don't you bring me down today

Beautiful - divastation

Some of them want to use you
Some of them want to get used by you
Some of them want to abuse you
Some of them want to be abused

eurythmics - divastation

If you need me, call me
No matter where you are
No matter how far
Just call my name

motown - divastation

Ikaw ang pag-ibig
Sa araw at gabi
Ikaw ang pag-asang tanglaw sa dilim
Napapawi’t hirap at pighati

ikaw lamang - divastation

opm hits - divastation

You took my love for granted, why oh why
The show is over, say good-bye

I never wanted anyone like this
It's all brand new, you'll feel it in my kiss

The secret I knew then
Will I ever have the chance again

Mmmmmm, give yourself to me
Mmmmmm, you hold the key

If the music's pumping it will give you new life
You're a superstar, yes, that's what you are, you know it

madonna - divastation

Sa kanyang kilos at galaw tayo ay naaaliw
Sa ating mga mata isa lamang siyang baliw
Ngunit kung tayo ay hahatulang sabay
Sa mata ng Maykapal, siya'y higit na banal

baliw - divastation

And I love you so...

People ask me how

How I've lived till now

I tell them I don't know

And I Love You So - Divastation

Regine's Christmas Message

Don't be afraid to stand up when you fall
To try and strive until you've given it all
And don't be afraid to learn from your mistakes
Don't let your spirit break and put you down

There's a spark of hope to guide you
Just believe in what's inside you
Someday all your wishes will come true

(If you/When you) hold on, hold on to your dreams
Don't ever give up no matter how hard it seems
Until you see the sun come shining bright for you
Hold on till your dreams come true

Dare to be strong and weather all the storms
It's time to cast your doubts and fears away
Stand brave and tall, through troubles great and small
You'll beat the odds with just a little faith

There's a spark of hope to guide you
Just believe in what's inside you
Someday all your wishes will come true

Until you see the sun come shining bright for you
Hold on till dreams come true

When you're down and out you must begin again
Until you finally reach the rainbow's end

Note: Here's a RARE live performance of Hold On To Your Dreams. I think it's a B5, if not an A5

For those who prefer audio formats. Enjoy!

Asia Pacific Singing Festival 1989

Still trying to carve a niche of her own, Regine decided to join an international singing contest in Hongkong. The pressure's on her since the previous winners were Filipinos (Ivy Violan and Dulce).

Here's a clip of the Asia Pacific Singing Festival 1988.

Usually, it's a proven formula that for an artist to be recognized, he or she must win in a singing contest. Regine's victory in Bagong Kampeon wasn't enough to make her a star. Joining an international contest might attract more attention and respect from her hard to please Filipino audience. Here's her journey in Hongkong. A petite, lanky lass covered with 2 inch paddings. Enjoy!

Something's not right. Try this other video which has the right key. The belted high notes sounded more realistic (not chipmunkish).

The victory in Hongkong paved the way for most people in the industry in naming her THE Asia's Songbird...

Thanks to the following Regine friends : 1PHse, divadomination, gma7kapuso

Regine @ 16 Wouldn't Beg For Water

Gmdeleon's such a blessing to Regine's followers and friends. Another rare live performance of Sheena Easton's famous song (aside from Almost Over You). She performed this in Ariel Ureta's tv show - Stop, Look & Listen.

Regine @ 16 Singing Overjoyed

Thanks to gmdeleon's uploads (Regine's Love Me Again and Greatest Love of All). Here's another rare performance of a Stevie Wonder hit song. This is definitely a remarkable copy since it's from an audiotape.

Regine's timbre @ 16 was still teeny bopperish. Lacking in texture and depth. What's admirable was her vocal control. Enjoy!
