Kaya Natin Ito FREE MP3 Download

Kaya Natin Ito is the Original Pilipino Music's version of We Are the World and Band Aid (Do They Know It's Christmas?). The song's composed by Ogie Alcasid and the intention was to raise funds for the Victims of Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. In a way, this has something to do with helping people suffering from hunger--flood related.

I am not a fan of this song. It's just not as good as its western counterparts. Maybe I was just expecting something grand from this song that will encourage people to buy the album. Being an Ondoy victim, I appreciate the Cause of this fund raising campaign. There are still good souls out there. In this case, Filipino artists who are world class talents themselves. Charice Pempengco would have gotten more donations from Oprah alone. Still it's the feeling of Oneness --- Filipinos united in times of tragedies. (Keep telling that to yourself Siren!).

To those who have requested, here's the free mp3 download. Enjoy!

Mariah Carey-oke Grand Finals I Want to Know What Love Is

I never expected there's a WOW Magic Sing Mariah Carey-Oke Singing Contest. Locally, we have Regine Velasquez, Willie Revillame and Charice Pempengco as the major endorsers. MCA Music is responsible for this collaboration and Odyssey.

The main goal was to promote Mariah's Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel album. There were 20 semi-finalists who auditioned in various Odyssey branches and got a score of 95 and above using WOW Magic Sing. I enjoyed watching this contest since it's open to all age groups and sexual preferences. I am used to seeing a young boy belting a Mariah song with his parents' hope of not seeing his precious son joining a beauty contest in his adult years. Of course, the jolly Mariah Carey wannabees never failed to amuse me

Since Mariah is known for her belting prowess I've expected some Birit Babies (kids with belting power) and adult belters. But I never expected a lesbo Mariah fan. I am not stereo-typing people, but maybe, I just got so used to seeing and hearing Aiza Seguerra and the Indigo girls' acoustic type of music. Ooops! How can I forget Heart's Ann Wilson (a belter-spared) who guested in the L Word.

Due to time constraints, the semi-finalists had to sing a portion of Mariah's I Want to Know What Love Is which I found very challenging since the high notes are usually in the end part of the song. It's only the top 3 finalists who got to sing the song compeletely. Here are the videos.

Top 3 Performances:

Nina Gonzalgo

Jennifer Murillo

David Archuleta and Charice Pempengco's Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Christmas from the Heart is David Archuleta's treat to all his fans and soon to be fans. The album contains classic Christmas songs that must have been covered a gazillion times by almost any artist in his or her respective country.

My only saving grace for this Christmas album is track 7 - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas a duet with Charice Pempengco.

Regine Velasquez & Charice Pempengco's Divas Medley

Charice was sick during this rehearsal and Regine's AH1N1 was already incubating in her body. Their fans were waiting for this duet and we all know what happened. Hmm, Regine would normally belt in rehearsals but she just used her headtone voice. This is the complete video rehearsal and the songs in order:

-Try It On My Own (Whitney Houston)
-All By Myself (Celine Dion)
-Through The Rain (Mariah Carey)
-When You Believe (Whitney & Mariah)

Charice the Journey Begins The Ugly "Very Ugly"

Charice was well supported by her legion of fans, curious spectators and even detractors. The worst scenario in this show was the producer/concert organizer MixSonic Productions. The first video, I believe, is the head honcho of the said newly established production company.

Now, I have uploaded videos that will prove how disorganized Mix Sonic was, in terms of logistics. The 2nd video was taken at exactly 5:30pm. I believe there were people who came in early, just to secure themselves of good seats since it's FREE seating.

The SMX lady informed us that by 6:30 they'll let us in. Unfortunately, her announcement was very misleading which led to these chaotic scenes at around 7:20. What's really frustrating, was that a new line emerged on the other side of the convention. Worst, they let people in who didn't even fall in line. Just because they look RICH?

Mr. Mix Sonic stop pointing fingers. You kept on mentioning this isn't Araneta? SMX brags that it's a First Class/World Class Convention. If you have only ironed out your logistics, this wouldn't have happened. People are already tired of hearing the word "PASENSYA NA" especially if it's just a lame excuse for negligence. Lack of sincerity adds more injury to this situation. I understand that part of your clout is to get in your relatives or family members easily. People are not dumb nor naive as what you perceived them to be.

We do not appreciate that you used the long lines for your production value. Making the world think that there were throngs of people lined up just to witness Charice's world-class talent!. You know you made a Major Boo Boo (Platinum/VIP ticket holders not having their supposedly reserved seats). Your pocket or should I say bank account gained millions, but I assure you, your Soul is going nowhere near Heaven.

Charice the Journey Begins The Bad

Unfortunately, Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez couldn't make it. She was hospitalized and under observation for possible AH1N1. Last minute replacement was no other than the country's original Diva Ms. Kuh Ledesma. Kuh even mentioned that Regine even provided the gown that she was wearing that evening.

Pls. wait for the vid of her duet with Charice.

Check this interview with Regine and Charice during their rehearsal. This should have been their much awaited duet.

Charice the Journey Begins

So what's so special about this concert? It is Charice Pempengco's so-called first major solo concert. Initially, they were planning to stage it at the Araneta Coliseum, but due to time constraints the SMX Convention center was the more obvious choice for this special concert.

The SMX is a new concert/convention venue, so expect very good air conditioning and clean facilities. This is better than the quaint Folk Arts Theatre where new artists usually had their baptismal of fire. Charice will definitely enjoy her stage in the SMX. Also, she won't be indifferent if you compare this to the world class venues where she had performed with international artists like Celine Dion.

To make this a more memorable concert, Asia's Songbird "Regine Velasquez" will grace her show. Charice's appearance in Divas 4 Divas (US) is just a teaser. Finally, speculations and fan wars will be put to an end. A temporary ceasefire for these artists' loyal devotees.

There may be conflicts with these artists' schedule, but I'm sure that given their gift for music, these Divas can come up with a special duet. I'm crossing my fingers that they will perform And I'm Telling You with counterpoints of course, instead of the boring and usual When You Believe performances.

This concert will definitely banish all unfounded truths (irony) that Charice never openly declared her admiration for the Filipinos' beloved Songbird - Regine Velasquez. You still have more than a week, so for your tickets and seat arrangements just click the highlighted words. Watch Charice with the formidable Filipina Divas sharing one stage. Enjoy!

Thanks to Moji3's vid!!!

Regine's 18 Greatest Hits!

Regine's new album is a compilation of just some of her greatest hits. I believe that this is a birthday album present to her fans. It's nice to hear that they have digitally remastered songs that were recorded in the early 90s. So expect better sound quality of her earlier hits like Narito Ako, Urong Sulong, Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang, etc.

This album also included not so popular Regine songs like Maghihintay Ako Sa 'Yo and Kastilyong Buhangin. This is actually a good way to educate new Regine devouts. At least, they will be equipped with necessary Regine discography. Also, they will hear how Regine evolved as a singer thru her voice technique, timbre and style.

A Regine Greatest Hits album will not be complete without the movie theme songs she popularized. The album is just a teaser with her winning song in Ang Bagong Kampeon - In Your Eyes by George Benson. So it's safe to assume that Regine's dog George coined its name from George Benson and George Clooney- the Georges in Regine's life.

Of course the Greatest Hits album will not be Regine's if Belting Songs are not included. It was definitely nice to have On The Wings of Love and I Don't Want To Miss A Thing. These songs will continuously remind everyone that the Songbird is the Ultimate Belter in our country--possibly in the whole world.

I still feel that the release of this album is preposterous! Its goal is not to satiate Regine's fans, but the bank accounts of these recording companies. Nothing new... Nothing spectacular... So soo album layout and pictures. The only redeeming factor is Regine's Amazing Vocal Prowess!

Charice Pempengco's Pastry Kicks

It's undeniable that Charice is carving her own niche in the US Entertainment industry. Her first US Album will be released this year and will soon appear in the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks 2:
The Squeakquel to be released in January 2010.

Charice has been endorsing Snoopy's brand of clothing. I always believe that she needs a major make over. A serious make over that will give her a more International appeal and spunk. She can endorse these Pastry shoes that can match her youthful look. Since Pastry kicks is looking for its Pastry model, Charice can be tapped as its product endorser (shoes, jeans, handbags & accessories).

These Pastry shoes are conceptualized by Angela and Vanessa Simmons. The main inspiration is their favorite pastry products. Thus, Pastry Kicks products are known for their sweet, chic and unique designs.

I would really like to see Charice in these Pastry shoes. This will make her more identifiable to her American fans.

I Will Survive with Marvin Agustin & Nelson Canlas

This medley existed for more than a decade already (first heard in RETRO concert). I still prefer the arrangement of of Mon Faustino as compared to David Foster's! Regine dancing with Marvin Agustin. After the show, Regine didn't show any exhaustion. She immediately granted an interview first with GMA's Nelson Canlas. After the interviews (ABS CBN) she signed cds.

Totoy Bato's Theme Ako'y Sa'yo (Low Key New Eastwood Mall)

I really cannot explain why I can't seem to appreciate Totoy Bato. The pacing is fast, yet it seems forever dragging. All About Eve is more indulging than watching the fight scenes in Totoy Bato ala Street Fighter. Hopefully, it will improve as the story progresses. Regine's talent will be a waste in this teleserye. The theme song is somewhat okay. It grows on you but has a limited time frame. It's not your usual Last Song Syndrome. Regine's Di Na Nag-iisa (DARNA) is still the best teleserye theme, followed by Maghihintay Ako (Atlantika).

Low Key AT SEVENTEEN New Eastwood Mall (3.13.09)

One of my consolations, Regine singing one of my favorite tracks in her LOW KEY album. It must be the Ugly Duckling Syndrome that I can empathize with easily. ENJOY!

I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired.
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth.
And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say come dance with me
and murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems
At seventeen.
A brown eyed girl in hand me downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
said, Pity please the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve.
The rich relationed hometown queen
Married into what she needs
A guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly.
Remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
Indebentures of quality
And dubious integrity.
Their small town eyes will gape at you
in dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received
At seventeen.
To those of us who know the pain
Of valentines that never came,
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball.
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today
And dreams were all they gave for free
To ugly duckling girls like me.
We all play the game and when we dare
To cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
That call and say, come dance with me
and murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me
At seventeen

Low Key Clouds @ The New Eastwood Mall (3.13.09)

The venue's pretty ugly. Ugly because of the on-going construction of the fountain. Pretty coz it's somewhat a mini-replica of Greenbelt 3. I just realized that the production didn't match the Songbird's talent. This was just a disappointing scenario to see and hear Regine relying on minus one/multiplex. Are these signs of global economic slowdown? The redeeming factors were the sound system that was three times better than the one in Central Plaza where The Dawn was playing. Also, Regine's exemplary vocals. Here is Regine's not so grand entrance since she had to to walk from the basement parking in stilletos. It just showed her patience and professionalism. Enjoy Rah Band's hit song Clouds Across The Moon in stereo recording!

CHARICE - SHUT UP & Listen!!!

CHARICE:
To ELLEN, OPRAH & DAVID FOSTER

Oh, the time has come for my dreams to be heard
They will not be pushed aside and turned
Into your own all 'cause you won't
Listen

CHARICE: to ABS-CBN

Listen, I am alone at a crossroads
I'm not at home in my own home
And I've tried and tried to say what's on mind
You should have known

Oh, now I'm done believing you
You don't know what I'm feeling
I'm more than what you made of me
I followed the voice you gave to me
But now I've gotta find my own

Charice Pempengco LIVE in Shangrila Mall

CHARICE
PEMPENGCO The Most Talented Kid in the World once again WOWed the audience at the Shangrila Plaza Mall. She is slowly but surely gaining the admiration and respect of her countrymen. The show is similar to the one she had in Eastwood City last year.

Chasters (Charice devotees) supported their idol and have proven that their presence cannot be ignored anymore. I just hope that their devotion to Charice will translate into Platinum album sales.

This is a strategic move for Charice to subtly promote her first US ALBUM to be released this year. Her album sales may be slow in her nativeland, but let's hope for the best that she will at least, hit the GOLD record mark in her so-called US Debut.

In Eastwood, Charice's opening number was And I'm Telling You. This time she sang David Foster's arrangement of I Will Survive. She is slowly veering away from the songs that were also popularized by Regine Velasquez. This is a good way to show loyalty to her idol Celine Dion. Since Regine has a vast collection of covered songs, it's just difficult not to compare Charice's versions of the songs she performed that night. Listen... Watch & ENJOY!

LUX - Only Pure Touches My Skin

If one patiently researches, one will discover that some things aren't new at all. Even advertising ideas are just being rehashed or modernized to suit the changing times. I thought that the tag line "Only Belo Touches My Skin" was an original idea by one of the top advertising firms. I was wrong. See and hear for yourself.

Ramielle Malubay LIVE in Manila

I like Ramielle even if she doesn't have a powerful voice. Being a Fil Am, she was admirable when she wasn't scared of telling the whole world that Regine is one of her IDOLs. This is something that Fil Ams should emulate. Never be afraid of your lineage.

Finally, after finishing the Idol Tour, she'll be here. Hopefully, she'll get to sing with her fave Songbird. What's final and absolute is that she's part of the concert :The Idol Experience: Ogie Sings with the Idol. This is a two night concert on December 20 & 21. She will be joined by Gretchen Espina - GMA 7 Pinoy Idol's Winner and the other 11 Finalists.

Charice Pempengco's Live Performances in Eastwood

I've been pre-occupied with the Divas 4 Divas video uploads. My apologies. I will definitely upload Charice's performances in Libis anytime this week. So please be patient on this matter. There are 7 videos or more. I'm somewhat disappointed with the copyright issues of the Divas 4 Divas video uploads. I noticed that not all vids had copyright issues. Now, I'm thinking these vids will not be shown on tv. I'm not seeing any problem with Charice's vids since it's a free show.

Charice Pempengco @ Eastwood City

Seeing Charice's Billboard made me realize that she's like a younger version of a veteran actress. Voila! Her face reminds me of Chanda Romero. She's being tagged as a world phenomenon. Oprah simply calls her the World's Most Talented Kid. A part of me gets confused and disoriented whenever i hear this phrase. How can a 15 or a 16 yr old be considered a KID?

Now, I can't help but notice Charice's fascination with hats. It's just soo 90's, reminiscent of the late Ten Ten Munoz and Regine in her younger years. The only fashion accessory missing are those overtly thick shoulder pads. She should stop using those hats especially in humid venues. Also, she should consider sporting other clothing labels. Snoopy is just a brand for kids and pre-teens. She must learn to evolve. I'm sure that she will---soon.

I'm still editing and will soon be uploading the videos. So for the meantime, I will just rant and rave.
