I'm assuming that Fantasy is Earth Wind and Fire's version not Mariah Carey's original. Or maybe it's Gerard Kenny's version which she sang in her Drawn concert. If there's an Ogie's theme there should have been a Regine's theme. If such a theme existed, it can really be compared to Mariah's theme (Can't take that Away).
Here's the official music video of Regine's You Don't Know written by Ogie Alcasid and directed by Direk Nani. The video can be interpreted in different ways. The most obvious would be Regine as a restaurant patron who has witnessed the relationship of real lovers Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes. Enjoy!

Regine finally admitted that she will be wearing a red wedding gown designed byMonique Lhuillier. I like the idea of this wedding dress on a beach wedding at Punta Fuego.
It's possible that Regine and Ogie are destined to be together forever. Here's a picture of the couple 19 years ago. Also, if you have seen Regine's concerts in the early 90s, Ogie was always there - giving the love of her life (future) standing ovations.

I have been waiting as well for Regine's new album. I personally do not like the album title Fantasy since it can be used against her. Mariah Carey has the same album title. I really do not understand why the people working for and with Regine did not even suggest for a better and original album title. Regine has avoided singing Mariah' songs. I have not heard her sing any of Mariah's hit songs in Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel. There are so many words that can be used to replace Fantasy. They can use Mirage, Phantasm, Illusion, Dream or even Fairy tale.
The album is a dream come true for most Regine fanatics. Another pre-Christmas treat since it's a double cd. One cd will have original tracks and the other one will have covers. It'll have 22 tracks. Hopefully, there'll be 11 originals and 11 covers. There has been no advice yet from record bars on the tentative release date of this album. It might be released on the last week of November.
It is very obvious that most of the pictures were inspired by Regine and Ogie's Pre-Nuptial shoot. The pictures are good. A friend commented that some of the black and white pics were not that sharp. Still, lots of great pics to choose from for the album layout.
Regine has been waiting for her dream wedding. Her fans are waiting with her. For those who can't be accomodated in her wedding - Fantasy will be a good alternative solution. After all, we've been waiting for something new from our Songbird.

Kaya Natin Ito is the Original Pilipino Music's version of We Are the World and Band Aid (Do They Know It's Christmas?). The song's composed by Ogie Alcasid and the intention was to raise funds for the Victims of Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. In a way, this has something to do with helping people suffering from hunger--flood related.
I am not a fan of this song. It's just not as good as its western counterparts. Maybe I was just expecting something grand from this song that will encourage people to buy the album. Being an Ondoy victim, I appreciate the Cause of this fund raising campaign. There are still good souls out there. In this case, Filipino artists who are world class talents themselves. Charice Pempengco would have gotten more donations from Oprah alone. Still it's the feeling of Oneness --- Filipinos united in times of tragedies. (Keep telling that to yourself Siren!).

People change. Regine never endorsed any politician before. Recording Hindi Ka Nag-iisa is not just pleasing the composer/partner Ogie Alcasid. It is for a bigger cause - the fate of the Philippines for the next 6 years. It is very apparent that Noynoy Aquino is being supported by some of the country's popular and bankable stars. This is the movie theme of Oh My Girl- Walang Iba recorded by Regine Velasquez. This is the first screen team up of Judy Ann Santos and Ogie Alcasid.
The concept is derived from the Hollywood movie Tootsie starring Dustin Hoffman.
Desperate situations, require desperate measures so this is what Ogie's character (Biboy/Frida) did in this movie.
I'm assuming Ogie worked for Judy Ann (Opao/Darling) as her Personal Assistant. Somebody that acted like an aunt (tita). No wonder her clothes are soo matronic. But aren't matrons, nowadays, chic and fashionable?

Regine's new album is a compilation of just some of her greatest hits. I believe that this is a birthday album present to her fans. It's nice to hear that they have digitally remastered songs that were recorded in the early 90s. So expect better sound quality of her earlier hits like Narito Ako,Urong Sulong, Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang, etc.
This album also included not so popular Regine songs like Maghihintay Ako Sa 'Yo and Kastilyong Buhangin. This is actually a good way to educate new Regine devouts. At least, they will be equipped with necessary Regine discography. Also, they will hear how Regine evolved as a singer thru her voice technique, timbre and style.
A Regine Greatest Hits album will not be complete without the movie theme songs she popularized. The album is just a teaser with her winning song in Ang Bagong Kampeon - In Your Eyes by George Benson. So it's safe to assume that Regine's dog George coined its name from George Benson and George Clooney- the Georges in Regine's life.
Of course the Greatest Hits album will not be Regine's if Belting Songs are not included. It was definitely nice to have On The Wings of Love and I Don't Want To Miss A Thing. These songs will continuously remind everyone that the Songbird is the Ultimate Belter in our country--possibly in the whole world.
I still feel that the release of this album is preposterous! Its goal is not to satiate Regine's fans, but the bank accounts of these recording companies. Nothing new... Nothing spectacular... So soo album layout and pictures. The only redeeming factor is Regine's Amazing Vocal Prowess!

I like Ramielle even if she doesn't have a powerful voice. Being a Fil Am, she was admirable when she wasn't scared of telling the whole world that Regine is one of her IDOLs. This is something that Fil Ams should emulate. Never be afraid of your lineage.
Finally, after finishing the Idol Tour, she'll be here. Hopefully, she'll get to sing with her fave Songbird. What's final and absolute is that she's part of the concert :The Idol Experience: Ogie Sings with the Idol. This is a two night concert on December 20 & 21. She will be joined by Gretchen Espina - GMA 7 Pinoy Idol's Winner and the other 11 Finalists.

Based on my previous entry about hard economic times, I did my best not to give in to my wants. I meant, I would love to splurge for these 4 Divas. But I need to tame myself. On second thought, being offered by scalpers 50% discount on high end tickets is such a welcome temptation. If they were just early, I would have surrendered to such offers.
I intentionally did not read any articles nor watch any tv appearances when they were promoting this show. I wanted to watch the show with ZERO expectations. Honestly, I believe that Rowell Santiago's resignation as the show's director, was purely a marketing gimmick. So there's an effective formula for creating a much needed buzz for this once in a lifetime concert. Look at the picture and see for yourself.
So where do I begin? I used to be very detailed and unforgiving in my reviews before. But since I'd like to be interactive, I'll let the vids and the pics narrate what really transpired during the show. Now, please be forgiving since am not in the best seating position and for strategic recording purposes. I can't be in front seats and blatantly record the entire show. I'd like to pay Respect to GMA since the show will be televised this month. For sure there will be additional graphics that will be incorporated when they release this on tv. So, please be content with an amateur video. The main purpose is to share to those less fortunate Songbird worshippers, fans, friends and loved ones of the other Divasworldwide. I am not in any manner, intends to jeopardize this TV Special.
