Marian Rivera's DARNA Costume

All I can say is, Marian Rivera's DARNA costume is the best version ever. The finalized costume is more consistent to the original theme of Red & Gold. She looks more like a Real Super Heroine. Bong Leal did an Amazing Job! It's a work of art!

Marian looks very fit ala Linda Carter and it's soo Hollywoodish! Darna ratings will Soar High in August!!!

Charice the Journey Begins The Ugly "Very Ugly"

Charice was well supported by her legion of fans, curious spectators and even detractors. The worst scenario in this show was the producer/concert organizer MixSonic Productions. The first video, I believe, is the head honcho of the said newly established production company.

Now, I have uploaded videos that will prove how disorganized Mix Sonic was, in terms of logistics. The 2nd video was taken at exactly 5:30pm. I believe there were people who came in early, just to secure themselves of good seats since it's FREE seating.

The SMX lady informed us that by 6:30 they'll let us in. Unfortunately, her announcement was very misleading which led to these chaotic scenes at around 7:20. What's really frustrating, was that a new line emerged on the other side of the convention. Worst, they let people in who didn't even fall in line. Just because they look RICH?

Mr. Mix Sonic stop pointing fingers. You kept on mentioning this isn't Araneta? SMX brags that it's a First Class/World Class Convention. If you have only ironed out your logistics, this wouldn't have happened. People are already tired of hearing the word "PASENSYA NA" especially if it's just a lame excuse for negligence. Lack of sincerity adds more injury to this situation. I understand that part of your clout is to get in your relatives or family members easily. People are not dumb nor naive as what you perceived them to be.

We do not appreciate that you used the long lines for your production value. Making the world think that there were throngs of people lined up just to witness Charice's world-class talent!. You know you made a Major Boo Boo (Platinum/VIP ticket holders not having their supposedly reserved seats). Your pocket or should I say bank account gained millions, but I assure you, your Soul is going nowhere near Heaven.

Charice the Journey Begins The Bad

Unfortunately, Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez couldn't make it. She was hospitalized and under observation for possible AH1N1. Last minute replacement was no other than the country's original Diva Ms. Kuh Ledesma. Kuh even mentioned that Regine even provided the gown that she was wearing that evening.

Pls. wait for the vid of her duet with Charice.

Check this interview with Regine and Charice during their rehearsal. This should have been their much awaited duet.

Marian Rivera's DARNA training wannabe Boobay in Kay Susan Tayo

When I heard Marian Rivera's name as the new Darna, I had doubts if she can give justice to the role. Angel Locsin portrayed an athletic Darna, something that previous Darnas were not able to do. Marian can definitely swim with her mermaid costume in Dyesebel but can she do fight scenes?

After watching her training in Wushu and her balancing act using a harness, I'm more than 100% convinced, Marian can be a better Darna as compared to Angel Locsin. I have not seen Angel do a back flip when landing nor more complicated fight scene moves.

To better understand the level of difficulty of Marian's Darna moves, watch her train Boobay in an episode of Kay Susan Tayo. I have seen these videos for more than a dozen times already and I get the same feeling of unexplained laughter. Boobay is very very funny! Also, the bloated Regine Velasquez impersonator is very promising! Watch and experience the same joy! ENJOY!

David Cook Shopping in SM Megamall & David Archuleta Retreating to his Hotel

The concert of David Cook and David Archuleta was a BIG success even if the ticket prices were exorbitantly expensive especially the Platinum seats. There's no stopping a third world country like the Philippines in missing their well loved American Idols.

The first video was an unexpected visit by David Cook and his band in SM Megamall (7th world's largest shopping mall). Again, the crappy memory card malfunctioned and erased the longer & better vid. Reformatting the card solved the problem and we had to settle with this short vid and a stalking vid of David Archuleta (Edsa Shangrila Hotel) after his rehearsal.

A number of fans surely missed the airing of this exclusive interview of Cook and Archie at GMA's Cool Center. It has been more than a month and it still made me laugh. This video is definitely worth sharing to the whole world. You will see the natural acting skills of these American Idols. Also, you will witness Eugene Domingo's comedic skills without using slapsticks as compared to her rivals that lacked wit and charm. Enjoy the interview and it's truly CRAZY!!!

Regine Strutting the Catwalk in GMA's 59th Anniversary

Having worn high heels for more than two decades now, it's definitely fun to see Regine enjoying her stiletto heels on the catwalk as captured in this video. This is a MUST SEE and since it's an amateur vid, it's still best to watch and record this momentous celebration using your preferred medium.

Pastry Celebrates Father's Day

It's that time of the year again(NO, not Christmas!) when dad gets to spend the whole day as the real man of the house - getting pampered, starting off with the ol' breakfast in bed (And how can we forget the Father's Day card positioned like a Menu?).

Pastry Celebrates Father's Day! For every $50 purchase, entitles you to a FREE pair Run Athletics Shoes.

Now that's the real Breakfast in Bed that daddies need? A healthy dose of caffeine, carbs and sweet rubber soles for dessert!

MC Vs RV's LVs

DIVAS Mariah Carey and Regine Velasquez' special affinity to Louis Vuitton's Mega Iconic Monograms. It's not about the Divas anymore since they share the same passion to make the Ultimate Fashion statement.

The initials LV nowadays are synonymous to Fame & Wealth. So, I'm wondering on LV's net worth! Why isn't HE included in Fortune's Richest? How much would a Louis Vuitton's strand of hair cost? After all, you can't find everything on ebay just like what everybody says (Them - Ordinary People).

Regine's Reach/A Moment Like This in GMA's 59th Anniversary

GMA's 59th Anniversary at the Araneta Coliseum has the best production value as compared to its previous celebrations. GMA has truly proven that it has evolved and can compete globally, not just with its rival networks.

The presentation is definitely coherent and I love the fact that they capitalized on good visual technology. The actual tv broadcast will be more intricate and grand. I can't wait to see the finish product. If my memory serves me right, it'll be on the 21st, if not on the 28th.

As a teaser for more great and sophisticated production numbers, here's Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez, as she reaches for the highest of high notes in chest voice. Enjoy!

Addendum: One Glamorous Night: Greater and Grateful at 59 will be aired on June 28 (SNBO after Ful Haus)

Charice the Journey Begins

So what's so special about this concert? It is Charice Pempengco's so-called first major solo concert. Initially, they were planning to stage it at the Araneta Coliseum, but due to time constraints the SMX Convention center was the more obvious choice for this special concert.

The SMX is a new concert/convention venue, so expect very good air conditioning and clean facilities. This is better than the quaint Folk Arts Theatre where new artists usually had their baptismal of fire. Charice will definitely enjoy her stage in the SMX. Also, she won't be indifferent if you compare this to the world class venues where she had performed with international artists like Celine Dion.

To make this a more memorable concert, Asia's Songbird "Regine Velasquez" will grace her show. Charice's appearance in Divas 4 Divas (US) is just a teaser. Finally, speculations and fan wars will be put to an end. A temporary ceasefire for these artists' loyal devotees.

There may be conflicts with these artists' schedule, but I'm sure that given their gift for music, these Divas can come up with a special duet. I'm crossing my fingers that they will perform And I'm Telling You with counterpoints of course, instead of the boring and usual When You Believe performances.

This concert will definitely banish all unfounded truths (irony) that Charice never openly declared her admiration for the Filipinos' beloved Songbird - Regine Velasquez. You still have more than a week, so for your tickets and seat arrangements just click the highlighted words. Watch Charice with the formidable Filipina Divas sharing one stage. Enjoy!

Thanks to Moji3's vid!!!

Charice Pempengco's Note to God

Finally, Charice released her first single Note to God where else? - Oprah Winfrey Show! That definitely gave her all the media mileage that she needs. I really want her album to reach Gold and then Platinum (dream BIG). We need more Filipinos and Asians in the elusive US Music Industry. Coco Lee was able to penetrate the market, but it wasn't enough. Her star's luster fizzled which made it more difficult for Asian artists to enter the industry. Record producers are scared to gamble.

A Note to God is  not an original Charice song. It was originally recorded by Jojo two years ago. I really don't care if this is a cover song. What's important is that Charice gave it her own touch, something that Jojo can't even replicate in LIVE performances. Her voice was powerful and just perfect for the occasion. She took control instead of being over powered by the choir. As expected, her manager Oprah was seen crying on screen. She must have been overwhelmed by Charice's voice and the millions of $$$ she'll get in return.

Charice was properly dressed. Nothing flamboyant. Nothing matronly.  Just suitable this time to her age ( a teenager). Since Oprah's managing her career, I really want her to get a product endorsement for Charice. I still insist that Oprah talks to Pastry (http://www.pastrykicks.com/). Oprah's clout plus Pastry's fashion ideals will suit and benefit Charice's growing popularity in US.  Just imagine Charice in famous Pastry shoes and apparels. She will never go wrong with Pastry.

Here's Charice's LIVE performance of her first single - Note to God. ENJOY!!!

Mother's Day Contest - She's Always A Woman to Me

Regine recorded this Billy Joel song - She's Always a Woman to Me as a way to thank her mom - Mommy V. This song is included in her Low Key Album which is still gaining popularity and more platinum awards. I wonder if the album has reached triple platinum already.

I really adore Regine's version, since it has once again, showcased her sweet & pristine voice. Most of all, it showed her whistling skill, veering from her famous belting prowess. ,I have uploaded a live performance of this song, in one of her Low Key Mall tours.

Now, I'm thinking of how to thank our Mothers or people we know who have assumed motherly roles. I can only think of sharing this legit Mother's Day contest by Pastry kicks.

Who ever thought that this impossible dream will one day materialize with the help of shoe connoisseurs Angela and Vanessa Simmons and their love for pastries. Regine's 18 Greatest Hits!

Regine's new album is a compilation of just some of her greatest hits. I believe that this is a birthday album present to her fans. It's nice to hear that they have digitally remastered songs that were recorded in the early 90s. So expect better sound quality of her earlier hits like Narito Ako, Urong Sulong, Kung Maibabalik Ko Lang, etc.

This album also included not so popular Regine songs like Maghihintay Ako Sa 'Yo and Kastilyong Buhangin. This is actually a good way to educate new Regine devouts. At least, they will be equipped with necessary Regine discography. Also, they will hear how Regine evolved as a singer thru her voice technique, timbre and style.

A Regine Greatest Hits album will not be complete without the movie theme songs she popularized. The album is just a teaser with her winning song in Ang Bagong Kampeon - In Your Eyes by George Benson. So it's safe to assume that Regine's dog George coined its name from George Benson and George Clooney- the Georges in Regine's life.

Of course the Greatest Hits album will not be Regine's if Belting Songs are not included. It was definitely nice to have On The Wings of Love and I Don't Want To Miss A Thing. These songs will continuously remind everyone that the Songbird is the Ultimate Belter in our country--possibly in the whole world.

I still feel that the release of this album is preposterous! Its goal is not to satiate Regine's fans, but the bank accounts of these recording companies. Nothing new... Nothing spectacular... So soo album layout and pictures. The only redeeming factor is Regine's Amazing Vocal Prowess!

Charice Pempengco's Pastry Kicks

It's undeniable that Charice is carving her own niche in the US Entertainment industry. Her first US Album will be released this year and will soon appear in the movie Alvin and the Chipmunks 2:
The Squeakquel to be released in January 2010.

Charice has been endorsing Snoopy's brand of clothing. I always believe that she needs a major make over. A serious make over that will give her a more International appeal and spunk. She can endorse these Pastry shoes that can match her youthful look. Since Pastry kicks is looking for its Pastry model, Charice can be tapped as its product endorser (shoes, jeans, handbags & accessories).

These Pastry shoes are conceptualized by Angela and Vanessa Simmons. The main inspiration is their favorite pastry products. Thus, Pastry Kicks products are known for their sweet, chic and unique designs.

I would really like to see Charice in these Pastry shoes. This will make her more identifiable to her American fans.

I Will Survive with Marvin Agustin & Nelson Canlas

This medley existed for more than a decade already (first heard in RETRO concert). I still prefer the arrangement of of Mon Faustino as compared to David Foster's! Regine dancing with Marvin Agustin. After the show, Regine didn't show any exhaustion. She immediately granted an interview first with GMA's Nelson Canlas. After the interviews (ABS CBN) she signed cds.

Totoy Bato's Theme Ako'y Sa'yo (Low Key New Eastwood Mall)

I really cannot explain why I can't seem to appreciate Totoy Bato. The pacing is fast, yet it seems forever dragging. All About Eve is more indulging than watching the fight scenes in Totoy Bato ala Street Fighter. Hopefully, it will improve as the story progresses. Regine's talent will be a waste in this teleserye. The theme song is somewhat okay. It grows on you but has a limited time frame. It's not your usual Last Song Syndrome. Regine's Di Na Nag-iisa (DARNA) is still the best teleserye theme, followed by Maghihintay Ako (Atlantika).

Low Key AT SEVENTEEN New Eastwood Mall (3.13.09)

One of my consolations, Regine singing one of my favorite tracks in her LOW KEY album. It must be the Ugly Duckling Syndrome that I can empathize with easily. ENJOY!

I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
And high school girls with clear skinned smiles
Who married young and then retired.
The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
Were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth.
And those of us with ravaged faces
Lacking in the social graces
Desperately remained at home
Inventing lovers on the phone
Who called to say come dance with me
and murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems
At seventeen.
A brown eyed girl in hand me downs
Whose name I never could pronounce
said, Pity please the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve.
The rich relationed hometown queen
Married into what she needs
A guarantee of company
And haven for the elderly.
Remember those who win the game
Lose the love they sought to gain
Indebentures of quality
And dubious integrity.
Their small town eyes will gape at you
in dull surprise when payment due
Exceeds accounts received
At seventeen.
To those of us who know the pain
Of valentines that never came,
And those whose names were never called
When choosing sides for basketball.
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today
And dreams were all they gave for free
To ugly duckling girls like me.
We all play the game and when we dare
To cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
That call and say, come dance with me
and murmur vague obscenities
At ugly girls like me
At seventeen

Low Key Clouds @ The New Eastwood Mall (3.13.09)

The venue's pretty ugly. Ugly because of the on-going construction of the fountain. Pretty coz it's somewhat a mini-replica of Greenbelt 3. I just realized that the production didn't match the Songbird's talent. This was just a disappointing scenario to see and hear Regine relying on minus one/multiplex. Are these signs of global economic slowdown? The redeeming factors were the sound system that was three times better than the one in Central Plaza where The Dawn was playing. Also, Regine's exemplary vocals. Here is Regine's not so grand entrance since she had to to walk from the basement parking in stilletos. It just showed her patience and professionalism. Enjoy Rah Band's hit song Clouds Across The Moon in stereo recording!

Disgraced REGINE Fans @ the LOW KEY Mall Tour in the New Eastwood Mall

How far will you go for your Idol? I have been thinking lately, especially when I've stumbled upon these videos of disgraced/disgraceful Regine fans. At first, I just find the videos funny but looking back, the incident presented a serious social concern. Regine is a diva with iconic and legendary status. However, being in a third world nation, we just cannot avoid freeloaders. Some Regine fans have developed this weird obsession of collecting her signatures and most importantly, pictures with her to be used in various social bookmarking sites.

I guess first or third world nations will always have freeloaders. There will be fans who will develop a stalker syndrome. There will be fans who will collect their idol's videos, mp3s, etc and sell them- impervious of the repercussions of the ANTI PIRACY law of their country. There will be fans who will find happiness with their collections and would claim that they have the BEST collections - not even pausing for a moment of reflection that they got their collections from other serious collectors.

Regine brings out the best and the worst in her fans. Just like in these videos, the fans did not consider the fact that other people spent their money just to get VIP seats. They were soo consumed seeing their idol that they were insensitive and lacked good moral judgment. They thought they can always get away with their usual third world glib tongues and cheerful dispositions. In life, Rules are necessary to promote order and a balanced sense of fairness. There are just no shortcuts. You have to sweat it out. Regine relied on her talent and hardwork. She did not become famous overnight!

Here are the links of the famous/infamous videos:

P.S. - The videos of her performances will uploaded as soon as possible.

Regine's Low Key @ The New Eastwood Mall (3.13.09)

The open park of the New Eastwood Mall was actually renovated to provide room for the stage as you will see on the video below. The video wall looks great in day time. At night time, it failed to replicate the intended look of Las Vegas or Macau. The video wall is soo pixilated in the dark. When Regine appeared in it, a number of fans commented "White Lady". Is it due to the video camera that they used? It's possible.

Here are the videos before the show and see how the people start to fill the venue. Enjoy!

CHARICE - SHUT UP & Listen!!!

CHARICE:
To ELLEN, OPRAH & DAVID FOSTER

Oh, the time has come for my dreams to be heard
They will not be pushed aside and turned
Into your own all 'cause you won't
Listen

CHARICE: to ABS-CBN

Listen, I am alone at a crossroads
I'm not at home in my own home
And I've tried and tried to say what's on mind
You should have known

Oh, now I'm done believing you
You don't know what I'm feeling
I'm more than what you made of me
I followed the voice you gave to me
But now I've gotta find my own

Charice Pempengco LIVE in Shangrila Mall

CHARICE
PEMPENGCO The Most Talented Kid in the World once again WOWed the audience at the Shangrila Plaza Mall. She is slowly but surely gaining the admiration and respect of her countrymen. The show is similar to the one she had in Eastwood City last year.

Chasters (Charice devotees) supported their idol and have proven that their presence cannot be ignored anymore. I just hope that their devotion to Charice will translate into Platinum album sales.

This is a strategic move for Charice to subtly promote her first US ALBUM to be released this year. Her album sales may be slow in her nativeland, but let's hope for the best that she will at least, hit the GOLD record mark in her so-called US Debut.

In Eastwood, Charice's opening number was And I'm Telling You. This time she sang David Foster's arrangement of I Will Survive. She is slowly veering away from the songs that were also popularized by Regine Velasquez. This is a good way to show loyalty to her idol Celine Dion. Since Regine has a vast collection of covered songs, it's just difficult not to compare Charice's versions of the songs she performed that night. Listen... Watch & ENJOY!

Drawn

I've been to similar paths - long and winding roads leading to traumatic events. I have waited for more than six months to get in a government agency. Maybe the problem is ME. I seem to know what I want in life that I tend to overlook on my real needs. Will this lead me to the elusive success story that I've been dreaming to have someday? Friends and families must have been tired of my so called vicious work cycle. I assured them it's not about boredom. Maybe these are deep seated issues on people who have caused me traumatic work experiences. Is it preposterous to say that I'm BiPolar?

As I exhume my past, I've seen these Regine memorabilias given by friends and of course signed by the Songbird. As I'm drawn to reconcile with my past self, I was also drawn to these beautiful sketches. See the beauty unravel through the eyes of these artists. Enjoy!

Thanks to M. Villegas (Sketch 1) and to R. Nolasco (Sketch 2)!!!
